Osteoarthritis- abnormality or erosion of ligaments

Osteoarthritis is commonly found among youngsters in the age group of 25-35. It is a bone disorder wherein ligaments either get eroded or become abnormal due to rough use. Ligaments are generally joints of pads between bones that prevent collision or rubbing of bones against each other. This disease can further put strain on hips, knees, spine and shoulders. If precautionary measures are not taken on time then it might lead to continual joint pains.

Most of the osteoarthritis patients suffer because of heredity. The certain external factors also play a key role in deteriorating ligaments. Increase in body weight, inconsistent sitting postures, improper diet, diabetes and birth defects are some other reasons that can drive the person towards the ailment.

Junk food is a complete no for people suffering from OA. Sudden jerks and heavy lifts must be avoided. People with ailments of low bone density and osteoporosis must be extra careful. People with heredity of OA must exercise extra care too. Joint guards or knee pads must be worn while jumping or playing game. Yoga can be opted instead of cardio or gym exercises.

It is very important to improvise diet habits so that body does not have to suffer the onslaught of any ailment. Eating citrus fruits like lime and orange which have high content of Vitamin C is quite effective. Improving calcium intake with increased intake of milk and yogurt in diet can increase the bone density. Hot soaks or paraffin use is quite effective while in pain. Winters are worse for joints so care must be exercised. Avoiding joint exercises is also advised.

Keeping a healthy diet free of oil and fatty acids and making minimal use of lifting weights can help cure OA at a faster pace.
